Sqooasha for Engineers (Sqooasha Eng) is an application for electrical engineers, specifically, power engineers. This application was developed out of a desire to quickly perform electrical computations without the need to search through hard copy references and tables to arrive at the solution several minutes, if not hours, later. With the right query, this application performs your desired computations in a fraction of a second. These may be computations which you already know how to perform, except that this application will free up time for you to perform more high level tasks by cutting calculation time in half.

Using voice commands, you can ask the application to perform basic tasks such as determining the maximum fault current through a transformer, (which you may need to know to size an interrupting device or a downstream switchgear); get cable recommendations given a voltage level and desired ampacity; obtain the ANSI device numbers for an equipment, (which really comes in handy if you are new to the power engineering field); obtain cable size recommendation for equipment such as transformers and motors; perform voltage drop calculations and much more. You can even navigate the application using the ‘go to’ voice command. At any time, you can refer to the help section, which always contains the most up-to-date voice commands as more voice command features are added to the application.

The ultimate objective of this application is to learn your issued commands over time and use the information to perform future computations more efficiently, and make intelligent suggestions that will end up in a better, more elegant engineering design.

Sqooasha welcomes any suggestions and feedback. We are always looking for ways to make our platforms better!
